Although their look becomes more stylized each day, and they have a penchant for contrived mischief, their western swing and bluegrass-inflected music is bringing back to country radio elements it has long lost : a hit single with banjo in it, a popular group that can play its own instruments, an Appalachian-style ballad and genuine musical talent.
